The body speaks through expansion and contraction

We know that the brain sends signals to the body, but have you ever stopped to consider how often your body is trying to communicate to you, sending you subtle messages and information for you to respond to?

For you to do this, you must learn it’s language. Your body speaks in ebbs and flows, expansions and contractions.

You must get intimate with its edges, its contours, its deviations, and most of all its flaws. These imperfections are there for a reason, and a dissection of those reasons can only be extracted through your direct experience.

Our lives are composed of seasons, much like the changing of the seasons we observe each year.

Much like life, nature is very often working in our favor. With every season of expansion comes the creation of something new. With every season of contraction comes the destruction of something old.

Creation requires destruction. You cannot have one without the other. Otherwise, you run the risk of a never-ending accumulation of more (as our current culture illustrates), which will inevitably lead to the destruction of it all.

As wonderful as it may be, a continuous expansion is unsustainable because sustained growth outward requires consistent nourishment inward. In regard to our lives, this tells us it is less about controlling the flow and more about trusting in the current.

The current being you—not the voice in your head—the intelligence in your body. Your body speaks in ebbs and flows, expansions and contractions. When you tune out these frequencies for too long, it can be difficult to hear them.

You must learn to trust what your body is trying to tell you. For you to do this, you must learn it’s language. You must get intimate with its edges, its contours, its deviations, and most of all its flaws. These imperfections are there for a reason, and a dissection of those reasons can only be extracted through your direct experience.
