How does our memory work?
Memory works in three stages: (1) acquisition, (2) retention, and (3) retrieval. ^efd24f
- The first stage of memory is acquisition. This is where we are processing information based on connections to existing knowledge.
- The second stage of memory is retention. This is where we are storing that information for long term use.
- The third stage of memory is retrieval. This is where we retrieve information from memory dependent upon a cue.
