Living with integrity begins with your awareness
Reference: The Way of Integrity by Martha Beck
At certain times in our lives, we reach the The Night that Wakes You and it’s the equivalent of life waking you up to ask how much you’ve been going through the motions instead of living with intentionality. It feels like a mid-life crisis, but it’s a necessary recalibration.
We begin to realize that the way in which we’re going is not the way we want to end up. It feels scary and it is, but without coming into the awareness that we’re off track we’d continue walking and never have a chance to change it. As soon as we realize we’re on The Path of Not Here, we have a chance to course correct and change direction.
It’s quite powerful the feeling that comes with admitting the truth about how lost you are. This gives you the freedom to find your way.

- Living with integrity is the alignment of thoughts, words, and actions into a cohesive self
- The second stage of living with integrity is to reconnect with what’s true - after we become aware of what’s not true we search for what is true. This is similar to, “When we let go of what’s not meant for us, we make space for what is.”
